History: Louis Rault (1847 – 1903) is considered one of the great engravers of the 19th century. He worked for the Boucheron house from 1868 to 1875 and received numerous awards including the Cross of the Legion of Honor. He fascinated his colleagues both by his mastery of materials such as gold, metal and steel but also by the inventiveness of his motifs. Her talent led her to create jewelry but also medals, figurines, boxes and even ornaments often having an idealized nature as their theme. Today his works can be found in numerous museums such as that of Decorative Arts in Paris or the British Museum in London.
