History:
In 1964, NASA began searching for a chronograph capable of accompanying its future space missions. Several models from major watchmakers were purchased on the market to undergo a series of rigorous tests. Only one surpassed them all: the Omega Speedmaster. The Speedmaster Professional 105.012 and later the 145.012 officially equipped the astronauts of the Apollo missions and subsequent missions, becoming the Moonwatch in the truest sense of the word.

On July 20, 1969, the Speedmaster Professional became the first watch worn on the Moon. An additional rarity, the reference model 105.012-66, produced in 1967 and 1968, represents the final and most refined iteration of this reference.
