History:
Pierre Sterlé (1905-1978) was born into a family of financiers. After his father’s death, he was placed under the tutelage of his uncle, a professional jeweler, who introduced him to the craft. Pierre Sterlé began working for other jewelers. In 1934, he opened his own workshop on Rue Sainte Anne in Paris, then in 1945 moved upstairs to 43 Avenue de l’Opéra. From 1934 to 1939, he created jewelry for brands such as Boucheron. The company continued to operate until 1976, when Chaumet purchased the company’s inventory while retaining the services of Pierre Sterlé as a technical consultant.
