History:
The history of the Cartier brand began in 1847 when Louis-François Cartier took over the jewelry workshop of his master craftsman Adolphe Picard in Paris. The house quickly became recognized for its know-how with a first purchase from the nobility by Princess Mathilde in 1856 followed in 1859 by Empress Eugénie.
Recognized as an exceptional jewelry house, jewelry made by the Cartier workshops has been a great success since the 1900s.
