History: Founded in 1827, the House of Mauboussin traces its origins to a Parisian jewellery workshop later acquired by Jean-Baptiste Noury, whose work was honoured at the Vienna (1873) and Paris (1878) World’s Fairs. His nephew, Georges Mauboussin, took over the business in 1898 and transformed it into an internationally renowned jewellery house. A leading figure of the Art Deco movement, he exhibited at the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, opened branches in New York, London and Buenos Aires, and between 1928 and 1931 organised prestigious exhibitions devoted to emeralds, rubies and diamonds, further establishing the House’s international reputation.
